Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has re-elected its top leadership, a move aimed at presenting unity despite growing signs of internal disagreements over the party’s future direction. Party leaders secured renewed mandates during a national meeting, emphasizing their commitment to strengthening the AfD ahead of upcoming regional and national political contests.

While the leadership vote projected stability, political analysts say differences remain within the party over strategy, policy priorities, and its public image. Some members favor a more moderate approach to attract broader voter support, while others continue to advocate for a harder line on immigration, national identity, and relations with the European Union.

The AfD has increased its popularity in recent years by capitalizing on concerns over migration, inflation, and economic uncertainty. However, the party also faces scrutiny from German authorities over allegations involving extremist elements within its ranks.

Observers believe the re-election of the current leadership provides short-term stability, but internal tensions could continue to shape the party’s political future.
